Wife of beaten NYPD cop was interrogated ahead of blue-flanked escort to hospital …..
Sergeants Benevolent Association President Ed Mullins said the wife of critically injured Sgt. Mohamed Deen was questioned about her husband’s drinking and behavior before Deen was led by a brothers-in-blue procession to a Manhattan hospital.
The wife of a sergeant who was critically injured in a Queens beating was needlessly interrogated by NYPD investigators, a union official charged, before the victim was transferred Tuesday night among a procession of brothers in blue.
Internal Affairs Bureau investigators “demanded information” from the grieving wife of Sgt. Mohamed Deen, Sergeants Benevolent Association President Ed Mullins said, before a hero’s escort brought him from Jamaica Hospital Medical Center to Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. Mullins called for the removal of IAB Chief Charles Campisi.
Probers had repeatedly asked the wife how much Deen had been drinking and if he was aggressive. A police source said the questioning is routine in such cases.

A fleet of brothers in blue escorted Sgt. Mohammed Deen, who was severely beaten during an altercation while he was off-duty in Queens.
Deen, 40, a sergeant assigned to Harlem’s 32nd precinct, was transported Tuesday by police escort for treatment of multiple facial fractures, cranial bleeding and a brain hemorrhage sustained during the early Sunday morning beat down, authorities said.
The gravely injured police vet was wheeled into the hospital on a stretcher, flanked by a dozen other officers.
